Pomeranians (Slavic tribe)

Also known as Slavic Pomeranians

The Pomeranians were a West Slavic people who lived along the Baltic coast between the Oder and the Vistula in the early Middle Ages. Their tribes were united under local dukes such as Wartislaw I and converted to Christianity by Otto of Bamberg in the 1120s. Over the following centuries most were assimilated by German settlers, though the Kashubians descend from them.
