Ponna
Ponna was a Jain poet of the tenth century at the court of the Rashtrakuta emperor Krishna III, who gave him the title Ubhayakavichakravarti, 'emperor among poets in two languages', for his writing in Kannada and Sanskrit. His best-known work is the Shantipurana, on the life of the sixteenth Tirthankara. With Pampa and Ranna he is counted among the 'three gems' of early Kannada literature.
