Price Revolution
The Price Revolution was a period of sustained inflation in Europe during the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. It was driven in part by the influx of American silver flowing through Spain to the bankers who financed Habsburg campaigns. The inflation damaged Spanish agriculture and manufacturing, weakening the economic base of the Spanish Empire.
