Province of Quebec (1763–1791)
The Province of Quebec was the British colony created by the Royal Proclamation of 1763 from the conquered French colony of Canada. The Quebec Act of 1774 enlarged it to the Ohio valley and the Great Lakes and guaranteed French civil law and the Catholic faith. The Constitutional Act of 1791 divided it into Upper and Lower Canada.
