Ptoion
The Ptoion was a sanctuary of Apollo Ptoios on Mount Ptoon in Boeotia, near the city of Acraephia. It housed an oracle consulted from the archaic period onwards, and excavations there have recovered an exceptional series of marble kouroi dedicated in the sixth century BCE. In the Hellenistic period the Boeotian League celebrated games there, the Ptoia.
