Pushmataha (c. 1764–1824) was a Choctaw chief, head of one of the three Choctaw districts. He rejected Tecumseh's call for a pan-Indian alliance in 1811, led Choctaw warriors on the American side against the Red Sticks in the Creek War and fought under Andrew Jackson at New Orleans. He negotiated treaties ceding land to the United States and died in Washington in 1824 during a treaty delegation.
