Pyramid of Djoser
The Pyramid of Djoser, or Step Pyramid, is a six-stepped stone pyramid at Saqqara in Egypt, built for the Third Dynasty king Djoser in the 27th century BCE. Attributed to his official Imhotep, it began as a mastaba tomb and was enlarged in stages, and it is regarded as the earliest large cut-stone building. It stands within a walled complex of courts and ceremonial buildings.
