Great Pyramid of Giza

c. 2560 BCE · 26th century BCE · Also known as Pyramid of Khufu

The Great Pyramid of Giza was built for the Fourth Dynasty pharaoh Khufu around 2560 BCE. Originally about 146 metres high, it remained the tallest man-made structure in the world for nearly four thousand years. Its construction shows the Old Kingdom's capacity to organise labour and resources, and it is the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World.
