Giza

Giza is a city on the west bank of the Nile opposite Cairo, now part of Greater Cairo. On its plateau stands the Giza necropolis, with the pyramids of the Fourth Dynasty kings Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx and many tombs of officials, built in the 26th and 25th centuries BCE. The site is part of the World Heritage Site of Memphis and its necropolis.
