Menkaure

26th century BCE · 26th century BCE · Also known as Mycerinus

Menkaure was a king of Egypt's Fourth Dynasty in the 26th century BCE, probably a son of Khafre. He built the third and smallest of the main pyramids at Giza. Statues from his valley temple, including the greywacke triads and the pair statue with his queen, are among the finest works of Old Kingdom sculpture.
