Radio Luxembourg
Radio Luxembourg was a commercial radio station broadcasting from the Grand Duchy from 1933, run by the Compagnie Luxembourgeoise de Radiodiffusion. Its powerful transmitters reached audiences across Europe, and its English-language service, outside the BBC's monopoly, became famous for popular music and youth programmes from the 1950s. The company that ran it grew into the broadcasting group RTL.
