Rapperswil

Rapperswil is a town on the northern shore of Lake Zürich in the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland, dominated by its medieval castle. It belonged to the Counts of Habsburg-Laufenburg, and after they supported an attempted coup against Zürich in 1350, Rudolf Brun destroyed the town. It later came under the protection of the Swiss confederates, and since 2007 it has formed part of Rapperswil-Jona.
