Rassemblement Démocratique Africain
The Rassemblement Démocratique Africain was an inter-territorial political movement founded at a congress in Bamako in October 1946 under Félix Houphouët-Boigny. It had branches in most territories of French West and Equatorial Africa and campaigned for African rights within the French Union. Its sections, such as the Democratic Party of Guinea and the Sudanese Union, led several countries to independence.
