Rhuddlan
Rhuddlan is a town in Denbighshire, north-east Wales, at the lowest crossing of the River Clwyd. Long contested between Welsh rulers and the English, it was taken by Owain Gwynedd in 1167, and Edward I built Rhuddlan Castle there from 1277. The Statute of Rhuddlan of 1284 set out the government of the conquered principality of Wales.
