Ripuarian Franks
The Ripuarian Franks were the Franks of the middle Rhine around Cologne, who took over the city as Roman rule collapsed in the mid-5th century. They had their own kings, the last being Sigibert the Lame and his son Chloderic, until Clovis I absorbed their kingdom around 509. Within the Frankish realm they kept their own law, the Lex Ripuaria.
