Runnymede

Runnymede is a water meadow on the River Thames in Surrey, west of London, between Windsor and Staines. In June 1215 King John met his rebellious barons there and agreed to the charter later called Magna Carta, which bound the king to the law. The meadow is now owned by the National Trust and holds memorials to Magna Carta and to John F. Kennedy.
