Sagala

Also known as Sakala, Euthydemia

Sagala was an ancient city of the Punjab, generally identified with modern Sialkot in Pakistan. It was the capital of the Indo-Greek king Menander I in the 2nd century BCE and is described in the Milindapanha as a prosperous city. Earlier, Alexander the Great had stormed the city of Sangala nearby, which some scholars equate with it.
