Saint Nazarius
Nazarius was an early Christian martyr venerated in Milan, where Bishop Ambrose found his body and that of his companion Celsus in 395. In 765 Chrodegang of Metz brought relics believed to be his from Rome to the new monastery of Lorsch, which was dedicated to him. The relics made Lorsch a major pilgrimage centre and drew many gifts of land to the abbey.
