Lorsch
Lorsch is a town in southern Hesse, Germany, between Worms and the Odenwald. It grew around Lorsch Abbey, founded in 764, which became one of the richest and most famous monasteries of the Carolingian empire and the burial place of East Frankish kings. The abbey's gatehouse, the Königshalle, is one of the best-preserved Carolingian buildings and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
