Salih ibn Mirdas

d. 1029 · 11th century

Salih ibn Mirdas was an emir of the Banu Kilab Arabs who founded the Mirdasid dynasty. In 1024 he captured Aleppo from the Fatimid governor, ending the rule of the Lu'lu'id regents, and held much of northern Syria. He was killed in 1029 fighting the Fatimid army at al-Uqhuwana near Lake Tiberias, but his sons kept Aleppo.
