Saltsjöbaden Agreement
The Saltsjöbaden Agreement was signed on 20 December 1938 at Saltsjöbaden near Stockholm between the Swedish Trade Union Confederation and the Swedish Employers' Association. It set rules for collective bargaining and for limiting strikes and lockouts, leaving the labour market to be governed by the two sides with little state interference. It became the foundation of the 'Swedish model' of industrial relations.
