Samguk yusa

c. 1280s · 13th century · Also known as Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms

The Samguk yusa, or Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms, is a collection of Korean histories, legends and Buddhist tales compiled by the monk Iryeon in the 1280s. It preserves material missing from the Samguk sagi, including the foundation myth of Dangun and the traditions of the Gaya states. It is a key source for early Korean history and folklore.
