Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates
The Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates is an ancient religious site west of Kourion in south-western Cyprus, dedicated to Apollo as god of the woodland. Worship there began by the 8th century BCE and continued until late antiquity, and the surviving remains, including a partly rebuilt temple, baths and buildings for pilgrims, date mainly from the Roman period. The site was badly damaged by an earthquake in 365 CE.
