Sansepolcro
Sansepolcro, formerly Borgo Sansepolcro, is a town in the upper Tiber valley in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany. Pope Eugene IV sold it to the Republic of Florence in 1440, a transaction whose loose wording left the tiny Republic of Cospaia unclaimed for centuries. It was the birthplace of the painter Piero della Francesca, whose Resurrection hangs in its civic museum.
