Santa River (Peru)
The Santa River is a river of northern Peru that rises at Lake Conococha in the Andes, flows north through the Callejón de Huaylas and then turns west to reach the Pacific near Chimbote. Its valley was settled by the Recuay culture and other Andean societies, and today it supplies irrigation and hydroelectric power.
