Saugor and Nerbudda Territories
The Saugor and Nerbudda Territories were a British-ruled region of central India, formed from lands taken from the Marathas in 1818 around Sagar and the Narmada valley. Administered at times from Calcutta and Agra, they were enlarged by lands confiscated after the rising of 1857. In 1861 they were merged into the new Central Provinces.
