Segeju
The Segeju are a Bantu-speaking people of the coast on the Kenya–Tanzania border, south of Mombasa. Portuguese and Swahili sources of the late 16th century describe them as warlike allies of Malindi who helped defeat the Zimba raiders in 1589 and attacked Mombasa around 1592, clearing the way for the Portuguese and the ruler of Malindi to take over the town.
