Seir Kieran

Also known as Saighir

Seir Kieran, in Irish Saighir, is a site in County Offaly, Ireland, where Saint Ciarán the Elder founded one of Ireland's earliest monasteries in the 5th or 6th century. It was the chief church of Osraige and a burial place of its kings, until Aghaboe and later Kilkenny overtook it. Remains of a round tower base, a high cross and early graveslabs survive.
