Seine
The Seine is a river of northern France, about 777 km long, which rises on the Langres plateau in Burgundy and flows through Troyes, Paris and Rouen to the English Channel at Le Havre. Its basin was home to Gallic peoples such as the Parisii and Senones, and as the artery of Paris it made the region the political and economic heart of France. Viking fleets used it to raid deep inland in the 9th century.
