Troyes
Troyes is a city on the Seine in the Champagne region of north-eastern France. Founded under Augustus as Augustobona, the chief town of the Tricasses, it later took their name. In the Middle Ages it was the capital of the counts of Champagne and the seat of two of the great Champagne fairs, and Chrétien de Troyes wrote his Arthurian romances at their court. The Treaty of Troyes was signed there in 1420.
