Seria

Seria is a town in the Belait district of western Brunei, on the coast of the South China Sea. Oil was discovered there in 1929 by the British Malayan Petroleum Company, part of the Shell group, and the Seria oilfield has been the foundation of Brunei's wealth ever since. In 1962 it was a centre of the Brunei revolt.
