369 · 4th century · Also known as Chiljido, Shichishitō

The Seven-Branched Sword is an iron sword with six side branches kept at Isonokami Shrine in Japan. Its gold-inlaid inscription, usually dated to 369, records that it was made for a ruler of Wa and is generally read as a gift from a king of Baekje. It is a key source for relations between Baekje and the Yamato court and is a National Treasure of Japan.
