Sidoarjo

Sidoarjo is a town and regency in East Java, Indonesia, on the Brantas delta just south of Surabaya. The fertile delta was the heartland of the 11th-century kingdom of Janggala. Today the area is an industrial and fishpond district, known also for the Lusi mud volcano, which erupted in 2006 and buried several villages.
