Simunul

Simunul is an island and municipality in the province of Tawi-Tawi in the southern Philippines. According to Sulu tradition, the missionary Karim ul-Makhdum landed there in the late fourteenth century and founded a mosque at Tubig Indangan, regarded as the oldest in the Philippines, making the island an early centre of Islam in the archipelago.
