Sisibe
The Sisibe were the ruling lineage of Bundu, the Muslim state between the Senegal and Falémé rivers, descended from its founder Malik Sy, who settled there around 1690. His successors took the title almamy, and rivalry between branches of the lineage made successions often contested. Under French rule from the 1880s the Sisibe almamys were reduced to local chiefs.
