Solway Firth
The Solway Firth is an inlet of the Irish Sea that forms part of the border between England and Scotland, between Cumbria and Dumfries and Galloway. Hadrian's Wall, begun around 122 CE, ran from the Tyne in the east to Bowness-on-Solway in the west, so the firth marked the western end of Rome's main northern frontier in Britain.
