Statutes of Sassari

1316 · 14th century · Also known as Statuti Sassaresi

The Statutes of Sassari are the municipal laws of the commune of Sassari in northern Sardinia, compiled in 1316 when the city was allied to Genoa. They survive in Latin and Sardinian versions and regulate the city's government, trade, farming and justice. They are among the most important sources for medieval Sardinian law and language.
