Porto Torres
Porto Torres is a port town in north-western Sardinia, the Roman colony of Turris Libisonis. In the Middle Ages it gave its name to the Judicate of Torres (Logudoro), and its Romanesque basilica of San Gavino is the largest in Sardinia. The harbour served as the outlet for the trade of nearby Sassari.
