Sungai Batu
Sungai Batu is an archaeological site in the Bujang Valley of Kedah, Malaysia, near the Merbok estuary. Excavations since 2009 have uncovered iron-smelting furnaces, a jetty and brick ritual structures dating at least from the early centuries CE, showing it was an early centre of iron production and trade. It is among the oldest known complex settlements in Southeast Asia.
