Suphanburi
Suphanburi is a city in central Thailand on the Tha Chin river, north-west of Bangkok. An early Dvaravati settlement, it became the centre of the Tai polity of Suphannaphum, whose ruler Khun Luang Pa-ngua seized the Ayutthaya throne in 1370 and whose line later ruled Ayutthaya. It was a frontier town in the wars with Burma and is now a provincial capital.
