Suppiluliuma II

r. from c. 1207 BCE · 13th century BCE

Suppiluliuma II was the last known king of the Hittite Empire, reigning from about 1207 BCE. His inscriptions record naval battles against ships of Alashiya, the kingdom of Cyprus, and fighting on the island itself. Under him the empire collapsed in the crisis at the end of the Bronze Age, and its capital Hattusa was abandoned and burned around 1180 BCE.
