Suyab
Suyab was a Silk Road city in the Chu valley of northern Kyrgyzstan, at the site of Ak-Beshim near Tokmok. It served as a seat of the khagans of the Western Turkic Khaganate, where the pilgrim Xuanzang met Tong Yabghu around 630, and later of the Turgesh. In 679 the Tang built a fortress there as one of the Four Garrisons of Anxi. Its ruins are part of the Silk Roads World Heritage listing.
