Taehak
The Taehak was the national Confucian academy of the Korean kingdom of Goguryeo, founded in 372 under King Sosurim. It taught the Chinese classics and history to the sons of the aristocracy and is regarded as the first formal educational institution in Korea. Its founding, in the same year that Buddhism was received from the Former Qin, was part of Sosurim's centralising reforms.
