Tanoli

The Tanoli are a tribe of the Hazara hills in north-western Pakistan, whose homeland, Tanawal, lies on the left bank of the Indus. In the 18th and 19th centuries their chiefs held the small states of Amb and Phulra, which survived under British suzerainty and joined Pakistan in 1947. Both states were abolished in 1969.
