Tarragona

Tarragona is a port city in Catalonia, north-eastern Spain, capital of the province of the same name. Built on the Roman city of Tarraco, it was held by the Visigoths, largely abandoned after the Muslim conquest, and restored in the 12th century as the seat of a Catalan archbishopric. Its archbishop still heads an ecclesiastical province, and its Roman remains are a World Heritage Site.
