Temple of Hera Lacinia

c. 470 BCE · 5th century BCE

The Temple of Hera Lacinia was a Doric temple on the headland of Capo Colonna near Croton in southern Italy. Its sanctuary was one of the most important in Magna Graecia and served as the common religious centre of the Italiote League. A single standing column survives, which gave the cape its modern name.
