Tidung people

The Tidung are an Indigenous people of north-eastern Borneo, living mainly in North Kalimantan, Indonesia, and in neighbouring Sabah, Malaysia. Largely Muslim and coastal, they were traders and fishermen, and some formed small kingdoms of their own around Tarakan and the river mouths. They made up part of the population of the Bulungan Sultanate.
