Sabah
Sabah is a Malaysian state in the north of Borneo, with its capital at Kota Kinabalu. Long claimed by the sultanates of Brunei and Sulu, it was administered by the British North Borneo Company from 1881, became a British crown colony in 1946 and joined Malaysia in 1963. The Philippines still maintains a claim to its eastern part derived from Sulu.
