Tissa Wewa
Tissa Wewa is an ancient irrigation reservoir at Tissamaharama in southern Sri Lanka. Built in the early centuries of the kingdom of Ruhuna, it watered the rice fields of the dry south-east and is still in use. It is one of the oldest of the many tanks that sustained the early hydraulic civilisation of Sri Lanka.
