Transcaucasian Sejm
The Transcaucasian Sejm was the legislature of Transcaucasia that met in Tiflis from February to May 1918, formed from Georgian, Armenian and Azerbaijani deputies elected to the Russian Constituent Assembly. Under Ottoman military pressure after the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, it declared the Transcaucasian Democratic Federative Republic independent on 22 April 1918. Divided by national rivalries, it dissolved on 26 May 1918, when Georgia declared independence, followed by Armenia and Azerbaijan.
